Scar Tissue Softening Healing Work

Scars are woven matrix’s of your body & stories.

Scar Tissue is simply, very dense fascia with unique properties typically bound with our body memory.

Scars exist on the surface of the skin and extend deep into underlying layers of the fascia and muscle where there can be internal scarring, causing over stretched & tense fascia.

Fascia is our largest sensory organ in our entire being, which too, holds somatic body memory.

Everything in the body is connected by marvellous fascia, which is entwined into our nervous system, wrapped around every muscle, ligament, organ, bone & vessel.

When stress & trauma accumulate in our body, this can create held emotional experiences which in turn, can cause unbalance in our physicality & create negative effects on our wellbeing.

Scar softening & healing’s aim, is to gently stimulate the fascia inviting healthy blood flow & circulation, relieving congestion, nourishing the health of the nervous & lymphatic systems, in offering softness, mobility, ease.  Reducing any ‘sticky tissue’ restrictions, between the layers of muscle, skin & fat, caused by the thickening of the underlying scar tissue.

Scar softening & healing around our nerves can also assist in pain reduction or recover sensations around our scars & beyond. Releasing fascia, sends signals to the spinal cord, which in turn changes the muscle tension, blood pressure, heart rate, activating our rest & digest nervous system response, supporting regulation of our nervous system & guiding our body to find its own unique place of balance.

Scar work is light touch work using oil and fingers, which sink slowly & deeply into the fascial network.  Gently progressing through the layers of tissue, promoting softness and recovery, it should not be painful and will feel different for each being.

Scar softening & healing work can lead to dramatic & quick improvements in lumps, bumps, gaps, ridges, knots strings & sensations as the tissue smooths out & blood is invited in.

Most often scars will feel softer, smoother & looser after a scar softening & healing session.

Natural scars, other Injury scars, Caesarean surgical scars, laparoscopic scars of any age, often respond quickly to this significant & kind work.

Scar work kind words

"I am deeply grateful for the care and support Stephanie has provided through her C-Section scar massage, healing  bodywork.  Her extensive knowledge and wisdom, combined with her ability to offer both physical and emotional support, have been invaluable.

Steph’s gentle and comforting touch, along with her reassuring presence, creates a safe and nurturing environment that has been essential in my healing process.  Her skilled techniques and compassionate approach have not only addressed my physical concerns but also provided immense emotional comfort.

As I prepare for my upcoming birth, I look forward to my Internal Pelvic Release Work with her.  I highly recommend her services to anyone seeking a holistic and gentle approach to bodywork."
